It is the idol of the mythical saint Agasthya Muni on top of Agasthyarkoodam.The pilgrims worship the idol during the season spanning 1-2 months every year from January to March.
Agasthya muni is considered as the inventor and proponent of Sidha Vydya , a traditional therapy of Kerala.
